CIMAGE Group Launches Bihar's First Humanoid Robot: Sumedh 1.0

The unveiling and inauguration program of Bihar's first humanoid Robot “Sumedh 1.0 “was organized by the CIMAGE Group on April 30, 2024.

The inauguration was initiated by the Vice Chancellor of Aryabhatta Knowledge University, Prof. Sharad Kumar Yadav, by switching on the Robot. The program commenced with the Chancellor of Aryabhatta Knowledge University, Prof. Sharad Kumar Yadav, the Registrar of Aryabhatta Knowledge University, Dr. Shankar Kumar, and the Head of Journalism and Mass Communication Department, Dr. Manisha Prakash, along with CIMAGE's Director, Prof. Neeraj Agrawal, Director Megha Agrawal, and Dean Prof. Neeraj Poddar, traditionally lighting the lamp.

During the program, the humanoid robot named 'Sumedh' demonstrated various tasks according to the coding done by the students and showcased its abilities in front of everyone.

The humanoid robot 'Sumedh' approached the guests, identified them, and presented them with a Red Rose. When the humanoid robot 'Sumedh' began to raise the Indian flag and move forward, the entire auditorium erupted with incredible energy.

The robot played the role of a yoga instructor, walked, danced, rotated, answered questions from the audience, demonstrated its abilities, and received applause from the audience. This 6-foot-tall advanced humanoid robot was programmed by the students of the CIMAGE Group.

The programming involved students from the sixth semester of BCA, including Ujjwal Kumar, Deepak Raj, Durgesh Kumar Singh, Neeraj Jha, Shreya Singh, Shantanu Pandey, and students from the fourth semester of BCA, Ujjwal Pushp and Satvik Kumar, played a major role.

The college provided students with all kinds of resources and training to create this humanoid robot. Students were trained by renowned robotics experts through workshops. This humanoid is equipped with the capabilities of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and can answer questions asked by people based on its database and online resources. Additionally, it is industrial-capable and is equipped with 8 axes and industrial motors. This robot, equipped with motion sensors and ultrasonic sensors, is designed for educational purposes. It has been fully customized to meet the needs of information technology students so that students of the CIMAGE Group can learn robotics more effectively. This robot is capable of multitasking, such as being a robot teacher, yoga instructor, robot guide, and DJ. It can anchor events and present news. Additionally, it can entertain people by dancing when required and serve refreshments to people.

Addressing the students on this occasion, Chancellor Prof. Sharad Kumar Yadav of Aryabhatta Knowledge University said, 'The performance of CIMAGE's students is commendable. They demonstrated their ability. He said that CIMAGE's students are showing the capability that they can shine not only in the country but also abroad. After visiting the college campus, he said that CIMAGE is a vibrant campus. He mentioned that CIMAGE's students have shown remarkable success not only in academics and placements but also in sports. Now they should also participate more actively in competitions organized by Aryabhatta Knowledge University. He said that after making this robot, CIMAGE's students should now make industrial-friendly robots keeping in mind the needs of the future. He praised the talent of CIMAGE's students and was impressed by their talent. He also praised the talent of CIMAGE's students.

On this occasion, CIMAGE Group's BCA third-year students Anshu Bharti and Vivek Kumar demonstrated their educational app 'Attendance System Using Facial Recognition System' developed by them. In which students had included many advanced features. This app also included the feature of face recognition. In the other group, BCA third-year students Saurabh Darshan, Neeraj Jha, Shivam Verma, and Shreya Singh demonstrated the app 'Information Management System for ECU.' The Chancellor was impressed by the talent of the students and observed the students' apps carefully and obtained detailed information about the app made by the students and gave suggestions to make it better. Along with this, certificates were awarded to students who got placements in the college during the 2021-24 session, students who maintained significant presence during the session, students who made the app, and students who performed significantly in the spoken tutorial project of IIT.

On this occasion, CIMAGE's Director Prof. Neeraj Agrawal informed that many other students have also made apps like the Electric Vehicle Charging Station Finder, Water App, and Mobile App for Farmer Buying and Selling, and many other apps. He said that CIMAGE's students should be provided with all modern facilities so that they can always update themselves with new technologies of information technology. This is the endeavor of the CIMAGE Group. That is why CIMAGE College has built the most modern humanoid in Bihar. It is named 'Sumedh' because in this era of Artificial Intelligence, when AI is emerging as a threat, its judicious use is necessary. 'Sumedh' robot symbolizes that judicious use of AI. He informed that the final year students of Fine Arts were given the task of making this project as a project. Students have developed these apps using technologies not included in the university's syllabus, but considering the challenges of the future, CIMAGE's students are also given many other add-on courses along with university courses, so that CIMAGE Group's students always update themselves in the field of information technology and get a good job in good IT companies. At the end of the program, a vote of thanks was given by CIMAGE's Director Megha Agrawal, while the stage management was done by Milind Kumar, Aakriti Kumari, and Priya Soni."
